UPDATE 2: We’re sad to announce that due to the weather forecast showing steady rain all day on 2 July, we have decided to cancel our Independence Day picnic for this year. We would like to wish all a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming you to our events this fall.

We’ll provide lawn games, face painting, music, and more! Kids of members of the American Club of Sweden get free hot dogs as long as supplies last.

Note: While the most recent testing shows safe water quality for swimming at all of Smedsuddsbadet, Stockholm Stad currently has an advisory against swimming on the eastern portion of the beach. The advisory is in effect for all of 2023 due to a persistent issue with bad water quality in that part of the beach during 2021 and 2022, most likely due to large numbers of birds. Our event will be near the western part of the beach, where there is no advisory against swimming. We will continue to monitor the official test results and advisories, and provide updates if necessary.
