We the People is our monthly conversation group open to all club members. Topics for our conversations vary, and future topics will be announced and be guided by the results of the previous gatherings. All conversations will follow our Club values of friendship, inclusiveness, and intercultural awareness.
The Annual Nordic & North American Skaters’ Cup (ANNA’S Cup), February 17th
Members are welcome to join this friendly ice-hockey match scheduled between US and Canadian teams.
The ANNA’S cup follows in the tradition of the “Diplomatic Cup” previously organized between the US and Canadian Embassies, now continued by the US and Canadian communities in Stockholm.
The Stockholm Writers Festival, April 13th-15th
No need to travel! Stockholm is hosting a world-class writers festival!
The American Club of Sweden is pleased to be a sponsor of The Stockholm Writers Festival (SWF) which will gather local and international writers, authors and industry professionals for a three-day event to be held April 13-15. The Festival will feature workshops and panels aimed at helping English-language writers polish their craft and “Find a path to published.” If you’re an unpublished writer, you can also enter SWF’s First Pages Prize.
The Harlem Globetrotters at Fryshuset Arena, May 3rd
In May the Harlem Globetrotters come to Sweden for their first and only performance here in 24 years. In 1993 the Harlem Globetrotters attracted an audience of 15 346 in Globen, Stockholm. This remains a public record for sports events at Globen.
The Globetrotters have performed for kings and queens, presidents and popes and are known for breaking down social and cultural barriers through the art of basketball. Whether or not you are interested in the sport, this is an experience you won’t want to miss!

The Cameron Graves Trio at Fasching, April 11th
Club members are invited to join board member Martin Dworén for an exclusive jazz evening at Fasching Jazz Club on April 11.
On stage is the Cameron Graves Trio. Cameron Graves, pianist and composer, was one of the founders of the jazz collective West Coast Get Down (WCGD), a group that drew the attention the jazz world to the Los Angeles jazz scene. Cameron Graves plays together with Mike Mitchell, drums, and Max Gerl, base.
Art Walk on Hornsgatspuckeln in Södermalm, March 21st
On March 21st all art galleries at Hornsgatspuckeln on Södermalm are open untill 20.00. Club members are welcome to join art expert and board member Deborah Duerr for a guided tour among the galleries.
After the art walk, at around 19.30, we suggest that those who would like to have a bite and/or a drink at nearby bar (optional).
Third Thursday Networking Mixer, February 15
Third Thursday (or “3T” as regulars call it) is our monthly mixing, mingling and networking event. It is open to anyone with an interest in The American Club of Sweden. It’s a great opportunity for those considering membership to get to know our members and learn more about our club. It is held the third Thursday of each month at Hilton Stockholm (Slussen) from 17:30-19:30.
No reservation necessary, just drop in. Non-members welcome!
This month we are encouraging younger members and potential new members to join us. Anyone aged 30 and below receives free entry to 3T.
