Go West Wine Tasting, March 15th
California Wine Institute, Oregon Wine Board and Washington State Wine will organize a tasting in Stockholm on March 15th with wines from the West Coast!
Wines from the U.S. West Coast are more popular than ever in Sweden as well as the rest of Northern Europe. At this tasting, we will present several new wineries to Swedish markets, and novelties from the wineries that are already familiar to Swedish consumers.
During an exclusive two hour tasting for American Club, American Women’s Club and AmCham members, you are invited to taste any of more than 250 wines from more than 70 wineries.
Stockholms Stadsmission in 2016
The American Club of Sweden would like to thank Stockholms Stadsmission for the continued strong relationship and collaboration throughout 2016. During the year we:
- raised funds (over 20,000SEK) and learned from a representative about the history and present projects at our annual golf tournament
- held our annual board planning day at Stockholms Stadsmission’s conference facility on Stortorget, Gamla Stan
- hosted our annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Bostället on Södermalm
Super Bowl Party, February 5th-6th
On Sunday, February 5th (and into the morning of February 6th!), members of The American Club of Sweden, the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, Gridiron Club Sweden and guests will be watching the Super Bowl! We are happy to be at one of our sponsors, Hard Rock Stockholm, as we welcome you all to an evening of Super Bowl watching, food and camaraderie with other fans!
Holiday Third Thursday, December 15th

Our monthly mixing, mingling and networking event, Third Thursday (or “3T” as regulars call it) is open to anyone with an interest in The American Club of Sweden. It’s even a great opportunity for those considering membership to get to know our Members and learn more about our club.
In celebration of the Yuletide season, we will be listening to holiday music and enjoying the season. Free and open to all!
Galleri Duerr will be hosting a free showing of Her Self, shown at New York Fashion week and the Cannes Film Festival.
This event is held the Third Thursday of each month at Hilton Stockholm (Slussen) from 17:30-19:30.

Reception Honoring Astronauts Fuglesang and Meir, December 9th
On the evening of Friday, December 9th, the American Club and our partners are excited to have the opportunity to welcome and celebrate two astronauts:
Fuglesang, a European Space Agency astronaut and the first Swede in space, will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary (December 9th, U.S. time) of his first space flight (STS-116). Meir, whose mother is Swedish, was born and raised in Caribou, just one town away from New Sweden, in Maine. She is an active NASA astronaut and an aquanaut.
In addition to this reception, on Saturday, December 10th, there will be a celebration hosted by the Swedish National Space Board (Rymdstyrelsen) including the Swedish premier of the IMAX movie A Beautiful Planet. Further information below.
